For a typical indoor floor in the UK, before tile, LVT or laminate, Ark Tiles sells Larsen SLC1550 Rapid Set Pro by the 20kg bag at £13.19, or as a 24-bag pallet (£316.51) and a 48-bag pallet (£633.02). Prices checked 29 Sep 2026. The live product page lists it as single-part, fibre-reinforced, 3–50mm in one pour, BS EN 13813 CT-C25-F7. Larsen’s SLC 1550 FLEX datasheet (Version 03, November 2024) gives coverage of about 2.5–3 m² per 20kg bag at 5mm. Prime first with Larsen Acrylic Primer. Foot-traffic and overlay times are on our SLC1550 drying guide, not repeated here.

Which self-levelling compound to buy
This is a buying guide for the Larsen compounds we can price from a live product page, with a class or a coverage figure on that page or on the named Larsen datasheet. It is not a ranking of every brand sold in the UK.
Larsen SLC1550 Rapid Set Pro is the bag for most indoor jobs before tile, LVT or laminate. The product page lists it as single-part and fibre-reinforced, from 3mm to 50mm in one pour, class BS EN 13813 CT-C25-F7. You can buy one bag, or a 24-bag or 48-bag pallet of the same product. The short version of which compound we sell most of is the best self-levelling compound UK guide. This page is the one with dated bag and pallet prices.
Larsen LLC206 NA is the two-part latex leveller. The product page has no EN 13813 class string. It says feather edge to 10mm, or 30mm when mixed with aggregate, and about 4.5 m² at 3mm from one 20kg bag mixed with the 4.5 litre liquid. Timber detail stays on the wooden floors guide.
Larsen SLC100 is for concrete and sand/cement screeds. The pallet page lists class CTC16F4 BS EN 13813, depth feather to 6mm, and about 3.6 m² per 20kg bag at 3mm. In this guide the price is the 48-bag pallet only. It is not a deep-fill compound.
We stock Larsen.
Level the floor first, then choose the adhesive. The large-format adhesive guide covers that next step for big tiles.
Larsen SLC1550: bag or pallet
SLC1550 is one product in three packs. The per-bag figures on the pallets are the pallet price divided by the number of bags. They round to the same £13.19 as the single bag. That is maths, not a cheaper bag, and not a bag you can buy on its own from the pallet listing. Shop the range in self-levelling compound, or the pallet page at SLC1550 pallet deals.
| Product | Class and depth | Pack | Coverage | Price on 29 Sep 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Larsen SLC1550 Rapid Set Pro | Product page: BS EN 13813 CT-C25-F7. Depth 3–50mm in one pour. Datasheet Version 03, Nov 2024: EN13813 CT-C25-F7. | 20kg bag | Not stated on the Ark product page. Larsen datasheet Version 03, Nov 2024: about 2.5–3 m² per 20kg at 5mm. | £13.19 |
| SLC1550 24-bag pallet | Same product | 24 × 20kg | Same datasheet figure per bag | £316.51. Maths: £316.51 ÷ 24 = £13.19 a bag. Not a separate bag you can buy. |
| SLC1550 48-bag pallet | Same product | 48 × 20kg | Same datasheet figure per bag | £633.02. Maths: £633.02 ÷ 48 = £13.19 a bag. Not a bag you can buy on its own. This pallet is over £499. |
| Larsen Acrylic Primer, 1 litre | Not a leveller. Product page: dilute 1:1 for general priming; neat to seal. | 1 litre | Product page: about 14–20 m² per litre diluted 1:1; about 7–10 m² per litre neat. | £8.95 |
| Larsen Acrylic Primer, 5 litre | Same | 5 litre | Product page: about 70–100 m² diluted 1:1; about 35–50 m² neat. The page says those are the per-litre figures times five. | £22.79 |
| Larsen LLC206 NA | No EN 13813 class on the product page. Feather edge to 10mm, or 30mm with aggregate. | 20kg bag (powder plus latex; one 4.5L liquid per 20kg) | Product page: about 4.5 m² at 3mm. | £24.18 |
| LLC206 NA 20-bag pallet | Same product page | 20 × 20kg | Same per bag | £474.00. Maths: £474.00 ÷ 20 = £23.70 a bag. Not a bag price. |
| LLC206 NA 40-bag pallet | Same product page | 40 × 20kg | Same per bag | £948.00. Maths: £948.00 ÷ 40 = £23.70 a bag. Over £499 on its own. |
| Larsen SLC100 48-bag pallet | Product page: CTC16F4 BS EN 13813. Feather to 6mm. Foot traffic in 4 hours. | 48-bag pallet. This table does not quote a single-bag price. | Product page: about 3.6 m² per 20kg bag at 3mm. | £489.99. Maths: £489.99 ÷ 48 = £10.21 a bag. Maths only, not a bag you can order from this row. The pallet itself is under £499. |
Free UK delivery over £499. The 48-bag SLC1550 pallet (£633.02) is over that on its own. The 24-bag pallet (£316.51) is not. The LLC206 40-bag pallet (£948.00) is over it. The SLC100 48-bag pallet (£489.99) is not.
Primer before you pour
For a normal concrete or sand/cement screed, Larsen’s SLC 1550 FLEX datasheet (Version 03, November 2024) says prime with Larsen Acrylic Primer diluted 1:1 with clean water. The primer product page, which cites Larsen Acrylic Primer TDS Version 02, November 2024, says the same dilution for general priming. Neat primer is for sealing, including gypsum. It is not the default for a normal pour.
Coverage on that page is about 14–20 m² per litre when diluted 1:1, and about 7–10 m² per litre used neat. A 1 litre bottle is £8.95 and a 5 litre bottle is £22.79 (29 Sep 2026). Both are on the Larsen Acrylic Primer page. Prep products sit in floor levelling and preparation.
We do not send samples of self-levelling compound, primer, adhesive, grout, silicone or paving.
How many bags
The worked example uses a 20 m² floor at an average of 5mm, because 5mm is the depth the SLC1550 datasheet quotes. Materials only. No labour. The range is the point: do not treat either end as the only answer, and this example does not add a wastage percentage, because that percentage is not on the datasheet.
| Line | Calculation | Cost at 29 Sep 2026 prices |
|---|---|---|
| SLC1550, datasheet low end (2.5 m² a bag at 5mm) | 20 ÷ 2.5 = 8 bags | 8 × £13.19 = £105.52 |
| SLC1550, datasheet high end (3 m² a bag at 5mm) | 20 ÷ 3 = 6.67, so 7 bags | 7 × £13.19 = £92.33 |
| Acrylic primer, general prime, diluted 1:1 | About 14–20 m² per litre. A 20 m² floor is at the top of one 1 litre bottle. | £8.95 for 1 litre. If the floor is very porous, the product page says a second coat may be needed. This table does not add a second bottle. |
Seven or eight bags is a single-bag order, not a pallet. A 24-bag pallet is 24 bags. At the same datasheet rate that is 24 × 2.5–3 = 60–72 m² at 5mm. That figure is bag count times the datasheet rate, not a second lab test. A 48-bag pallet is 120–144 m² at 5mm on the same maths.
Uneven floors use more compound. For another depth, use the levelling calculator. The Ark SLC1550 product page does not state its own square-metre coverage. Do not mix in the drying guide’s “1 m² at 10mm” figure. That is a different depth. Use that guide for cure times only.
Free UK delivery over £499. Eight bags plus a 1 litre primer is well under that.
What this guide does not cover
Cure times, when you can walk on it, and when you can lay the floor are on the SLC1550 drying guide. Timber and the two-part latex in more detail are on the wooden floors guide. Which compound we sell most of is the short guide. This page does not set out an install method.
FAQs
What self-levelling compound should I buy in the UK?
For most indoor floors before tile, LVT or laminate, start with Larsen SLC1550: single-part, 3–50mm, class CT-C25-F7 on the product page. Use LLC206 NA when you need a two-part latex leveller. See that product page and the wooden-floor guide. Use SLC100 for concrete and sand/cement screeds, and price it here as the 48-bag pallet. We stock Larsen. This is not a ranking of every brand.
How much is a bag of Larsen SLC1550?
A single 20kg bag is £13.19 (29 Sep 2026). A 24-bag pallet is £316.51 and a 48-bag pallet is £633.02. Dividing those pallet totals by the bag count comes back to £13.19. That is maths, not a second single-bag price, and it is not a discount.
How many bags of self-levelling compound do I need?
On the Larsen SLC 1550 FLEX datasheet (Version 03, November 2024), one 20kg bag covers about 2.5–3 m² at 5mm. A 20 m² floor at 5mm is 7 or 8 bags (£92.33–£105.52 at 29 Sep 2026 prices). Other depths: use the levelling calculator. The Ark product page does not state a square-metre coverage of its own.
Should I buy single bags or a pallet?
Buy single bags unless you need 24 or 48 of them. The 48-bag pallet is £633.02, so it qualifies for free UK delivery over £499 on its own. The 24-bag pallet is £316.51 and does not. Pallets are the same product, packed as 24 or 48 bags. See SLC1550 pallet deals.
Do I need primer with SLC1550?
Yes for a normal concrete or sand/cement screed. Larsen’s SLC1550 datasheet says prime with Larsen Acrylic Primer diluted 1:1 with clean water. The primer page: about 14–20 m² per litre at that dilution. A 1 litre bottle is £8.95 and 5 litres is £22.79 (29 Sep 2026). We do not send primer samples.
SLC1550, LLC206 or SLC100?
SLC1550 is the single-part bag for 3–50mm (£13.19). LLC206 NA is the two-part latex bag at £24.18, about 4.5 m² at 3mm on the product page. SLC100 in this guide is the 48-bag pallet at £489.99, for concrete and sand/cement screeds, about 3.6 m² per 20kg at 3mm, feather to 6mm. This guide does not quote a single-bag price for SLC100.
How long before I can walk on SLC1550 or lay the floor?
Use the drying guide. This page is the buying guide. Follow the bag and the current Larsen datasheet for your depth and the room.
