Skirting & Scotia

Skirting boards and scotia finish LVT and laminate floors against the wall and cover the expansion gap. Colour-matched Quick-Step profiles follow each floor decor; paintable waterproof lines suit bathrooms and utility rooms; a flexible waterproof roll bends around pillars and curved walls.

Scotia is the smaller quarter-round moulding. Full-height skirting boards give a taller finish. Pick a matching laminate or LVT scotia for a colour-matched look, or choose paintable waterproof scotia and skirting where moisture is higher.

See our Quick-Step LVT guide or laminate guide. Finish edges with profiles and trims, and lay underlay under the floor first. Doing the stairs too? Shop Quick-Step stair covers, or see flooring fitting in Coventry if you'd like it fitted.

Waterproof and flexible skirting

Quick-Step paintable waterproof skirting and scotia use a recyclable polystyrene body that stands up to steam, mopping and bathroom humidity. Heights on the waterproof boards are 38 mm (small), 58 mm (medium) and 80 mm (large), plus a waterproof scotia. Where walls curve or you need to wrap a pillar without mitres, the flexible paintable waterproof skirting comes as a continuous 7 m roll. Seal notes for Hydrokit and Foamstrip are on each product page — follow those when fitting in wet rooms.

Scotia vs skirting

Scotia is a slim quarter-round that covers the expansion gap at the wall (colour-matched laminate and LVT scotia, or paintable waterproof scotia). Skirting boards are taller profiles for a fuller perimeter finish — colour-matched laminate/LVT standard and parquet skirting, plus paintable and waterproof boards. For doorways and floor-to-floor joins, use profiles and trims (including Incizo) rather than skirting.
